Anderlecht made a dramatic comeback to secure a draw after scoring a double against FC Porto, maintaining their unbeaten record this season in the UEFA Europa League after playing five matches.
The Belgian team had an opportunity to steal an early lead after Tristan Degreef set up Kasper Dolberg, but his goal was ruled out for offside. Porto then scored a controversial penalty after Francisco Moura was fouled by Degreef in the box.
Galeno quickly converted the opportunity, redeeming Moura, who had initially conceded a penalty a few days before in Porto’s Taca de Portugal loss.
Anderlecht almost scored a goal to equalize the match before the end of the first half, but Leander Dendoncker’s shot was saved by Diogo Costa. Mats Rits first the post after the break, but Degreef immediately played a finishing goal to level the score.
Fabio Vieira, who joined Porto on loan from Arsenal, immediately helped the team to regain the lead after scoring moments after he came in with a great shot that went against Colin Coosemans.
In the late minutes of the second half, Francis Amuzu equalized the game after scoring a deflected effort.
This draw for Porto has increased their struggles in the Europa League away fixtures, with just a win in their last 17 matches, while the Anderlecht draw cemented their unbeaten run to six games.
