The Los Angeles Dodgers are in the news again after winning the World Series in less than a month. This time the team is signing star pitcher Blake Snell for five years in a $182 million contract.

A source who is aware of the negotiations revealed the news, claiming that the contact is awaiting a physical on Tuesday night. Blake Snell is a two-time Cy Young Award winner. He revealed the details himself as he shared a photo of him in a Dodgers uniform on the Internet.

With the contract, Snell will be joining a strong team that already has rotation stars like Yoshinobu Yamamoto and Shohei Ohtani. Shohei Ohtani just won his third MVP award after an amazing season as a designated hitter, and he is expected to join the team next after he must have recovered from his elbow injury.

While Yamamoto is credited for his good postseason display and also impressed everyone with a 3.00 ERA in 18 starts.

The team defeated injuries to clinch their second title in five years. They also have rotation gaps to battle after Jack Flaherty and Walker Buehler became free agents.

The new signee inclusion in the team will fill the gap for an ace; he will be paid a $36.4 million yearly salary, which will make him rank among the highest paid after only great players like Ohtani and Zack Wheeler.
