Inter Milan recorded a 1-0 win against RB Leipzig on Tuesday, remaining the only club in the Champions League this year that is yet to concede a goal.
The match was dominated by Inter Milan under manager Simone Inzaghi, thereby limiting RB Leipzig to just half chances to the end of the game.
Federico Dimarco created the only goal in the match in the 27th minute through a free kick that whipped over the face of the fish and passed through Castelo Lukeba, the opponent’s defender, who could not do much to react or stop the ball from finding the net.
Inter Milan paid much attention to their defense despite efforts from RB Leipzig and Lois Openda’s pace, which caused fouls, and Benjamin Pavard and Alessandro Bastoni were awarded yellow cards. Nerazzurri also succeeded in keeping Openda and ensuring that the attack of Leipzig did not become a threat.
Leipzig did not also succeed in creating opportunities that could lead to a goal; they lack good form in Europe while they remain in 33rd out of 36 teams after they lost five in as many games. They no longer have a clear hope of advancing to the knockout stages.
