Charles De Ketelaere was the star of the match as Atalanta ruthlessly beat the Young Boys 6-1 in a commanding Champions League performance.

De Ketelaere scored two of the six goals and created three assists from the other four goals, pushing last season’s Europa League winner to fourth position on the table with only two points behind leaders Inter Milan.

Atalanta dominated the game from the beginning, with Belgian star De Ketelaere creating an assist for Mateo Retegui to net the first goal in the 9th minute. The Young Boys did not wait long before they responded with an equalizer through Silvère Ganvoula, making it the first goal that Atalanta will be conceding this season in the Champions League.

Atalanta spent no time before De Ketelaere restored the lead in the 28th minute after converting a low shot from a corner. Not long again, he created another assist, this time to Sead Kolašinac, who converted it into a fine goal.

Before the end of the first half, De Ketelaere created another assist that set up Retegui, which made the halftime end in 4-1.

The second half did not deny Atalanta their dominance in the game, with De Ketelaere scoring the fifth goal in the 56th minute through a deflected strike just beside the penalty box.

Lazar Samardžić scored the last goal in stoppage time, earning the team a perfect three points. Gian Piero Gasperini’s side continues to prove that they are ready for the European tournament.
