On Sunday, Moises Caicedo’s volley gave Chelsea a point at Old Trafford after both sides scored a 1-1 draw, denying Manchester United their first Premier League win under interim coach Ruud van Nistelrooy. The game is the first one under the interim coach, with the Red Devils massively expecting the arrival of the new permanent coach, Ruben Amorim, next week.

The team gave all its best against Chelsea, which eagerly wanted a win too, and their efforts yielded in the 70th minute of the game. Bruno Fernandes scored a penalty after Chelsea goalkeeper Robert Sanchez took down Rasmus Hojlund.

Chelsea did not give up, even when the score was at their disadvantage. Moises Caicedo scored 74 minutes after Manchester took the lead through a penalty. Caicedo scored through a low strike to net his first goal of the season, ending the game in a draw.

Chelsea hoped to break a 2013 record by defeating Manchester United at Old Trafford, especially because the latter is yet to have a permanent coach. The game ended in a draw, denying them the opportunity to achieve this feat.

This draw has pushed Chelsea to the fourth position in the Premier League table just immediately before Arsenal with an advantage of goal difference as both teams currently possess 18 points.

Manchester United is now in the 13th position on the Premier League table with 12 points in their 10th game, waiting to do better in their other matches under a new coach, Amorim, who will be arriving at Old Trafford by next week.
