Legendary Guitarist Jake E. Lee Shot Multiple Times in Las Vegas Expected to Fully Recover

Renowned rock guitarist Jake E. Lee was shot in his driveway in Las Vegas early Tuesday morning. The 67-year-old musician, best known for his work with Ozzy Osbourne, Badlands, and Red Dragon Cartel, is currently recovering in an intensive care unit at a local hospital.

Lee’s management released a statement on X, confirming that the shooting took place around 2:40 a.m. in the 11000 block of Alora Street. According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, the address is located west of I-15 and north of the Starr Avenue exit.

A witness reported that Lee was getting ready to walk his dog when the attack occurred. He was shot in the forearm, back, and foot while still in his driveway. One bullet also hit his rib, but fortunately, it was not fatal.

The Las Vegas Metro Police Department responded to the scene following a 911 call from a neighbor who heard multiple gunshots. Upon arrival, the officers discovered Lee with “apparent gunshot wounds” and promptly transported him to the hospital.

In the statement released by Jake E. Lee’s management, it was announced that the guitarist is “fully conscious and doing well” in the intensive care unit. The statement also noted that Lee is expected to make a full recovery.

Authorities, who are still looking for leads to identify the attacker, believe the shooting was a random act of violence, occurring while Lee was outside and ready to walk his dog. Notably, Lee’s dog was unharmed in the incident.

Jake E. Lee was the lead guitarist for Ozzy Osbourne for three years in the 1980s, and he contributed to hit albums such as “Bark at the Moon” and “The Ultimate Sin.” During his time with Osbourne, Lee performed at major events like the “Monsters of Rock” festival. In light of recent events, Lee’s family and management have requested for privacy to allow the guitarist to focus on his recovery.
