Cunha’s Late Comeback Secures Wolves Dramatic Draw Against Brighton

Underperforming Wolves secured their second point since the beginning of the Premier League this season after a difficult 2-2 draw against Brighton as Matheus Cunha displayed a dramatic last-minute comeback.

Danny Welbeck and Evan Ferguson each scored a goal for Brighton, nearly propelling the team to fourth place in the Premier League table. Rayan Ait-Nouri scored a late goal that destabilized their opponent in the 88th minute through a beautiful finish, and Cunha scored their second that ended the match in a draw through a deflection shot in the third minute of stoppage time.

This draw has pushed Wolves away from the bottom of the Premier League table. While Brighton dominated the match to some extent, their inability to capitalize on a one-on-one opportunity proved costly, providing Wolves the opportunity to counter and get a draw.

Wolves boss Gary O’Neil, who could not hide his anger at their previous match against Manchester City due to a controversial defeat last week, was seen delighted with their draw against Brighton. The coach made great chances that he hoped would lead to a win, but Brighton did not also give chances.

Wolves now top Southampton but yet to leave the relegation zone, while Brighton is now in the fifth position in the Premier League table, missing their opportunity of securing another Premier League after the last two. Brighton faced a disappointing setback when skipper Lewis Dunk could not feature in the match due to an injury he sustained in the warm-up, leading to Igor Julio’s inclusion.

While Brighton got many chances to turn things around in the early minutes of the game, they lost it due to a defensive error with Wellbeck scoring the first goal.
