The Scottish Giants Rangers are said to be in discussions to sign Manchester United midfielder Hannibal Mejbri.
The Red Devil signed Hannibal in 2019 from AS Monaco in a contract valued at about £8 million. United fended off important games from some of Europe’s Giants to get the Tunisian international.
Hannibal has also found the transition from academy football to the senior team challenging, especially under manager Erik ten Hag, and has not had much playing time.
Hannibal also spent his second half of last term with Sevilla, but the move was very challenging for him.
Hannibal was unlucky shortly after his temporary move to the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán Stadium, where he played just six matches across all games with Sevilla.
The Spanish giant had the choice to make his contract permanent for £17 million but did not exercise it.
Hannibal may have a new chance to prove his worth, as Rangers are interested in adding him to their squad, according to information shared by Africafoot.
The outlet states, “Manchester United’s Tunisian international Hannibal Mejbri has received two offers in recent days.”
“The management of Copenhagen has started negotiations and contacts with the player and his club for a transfer in the form of a loan with an option to buy, but the Tunisian international is not very keen on the Danish club’s proposal.”
“The Glasgow Rangers club has also requested the loan of Hannibal especially after his great performance during the friendly match between Manchester United and the Scottish club last Saturday.”
“The Belgian coach of Glasgow Philippe Clément has made Hannibal a priority for the team during this transfer window and negotiations are advanced between all parties.”
Hannibal played the second half of United’s clash against Rangers last weekend at Murrayfield Stadium.
