2025 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1: See Details & Photos of America’s 1,064-Horsepower Supercar

Chevrolet has unveiled its latest masterpiece, the 2025 Corvette ZR1. This new model is set to redefine American sports car performance with its incredible power output.

The heart of the ZR1 is a twin-turbocharged V8 engine, known as the LT7. It produces an astounding 1,064 horsepower at 7,000 RPM and 828 pound-feet of torque at 6,000 RPM. These numbers make the ZR1 the most powerful production Corvette ever built.

Chevrolet has equipped the engine with two ball-bearing turbochargers. This setup allows for massive power gains over previous models. The engine’s redline is around 8,000 RPM, which is slightly lower than the Z06 model. This lower redline is likely a safety measure to handle the increased power.

An upgraded 8-speed automatic transmission handles all this power. Chevrolet has strengthened this transmission to cope with the engine’s output. Unfortunately for some fans, there won’t be a manual transmission option.

The ZR1’s body features extensive use of carbon fiber. This lightweight material is used in the lower front and rear diffusers, side air intakes, and side sills. These components help to reduce weight and improve aerodynamics.

For those seeking even more performance, Chevrolet offers the ZTK package. This option adds a larger rear wing, a Gurney flap on the hood, stiffer springs, and stickier tires. With these additions, the ZR1 can generate up to 1,200 pounds of downforce at high speeds.

Speaking of speed, Chevrolet claims the ZR1 can exceed 215 mph. This impressive top speed puts the Corvette ZR1 in the company of exotic supercars.

While official pricing hasn’t been announced, industry experts expect the ZR1 to start around $150,000. This price is a significant increase over the Z06 model, which starts at about $115,000.

Despite its impressive performance, the ZR1 does face some challenges. Its dry weight is between 3,600 and 3,700 pounds. When fully fueled and equipped, it could weigh nearly two tons. This weight puts it on the heavier side of a high-performance sports car.

However, the ZR1 maintains some practical features that Corvette fans appreciate. For example, it still has a spacious trunk that can fit two sets of golf clubs.

As production ramps up, the Corvette ZR1 is expected to be in high demand. Early buyers might face dealer markups and long wait times. However, as supply catches up with demand, more enthusiasts will have the chance to own this incredible machine.
