A 25-year-old woman has been charged with assault and criminal damage after throwing a milkshake at politician Nigel Farage during a campaign stop in Clacton-on-Sea, Essex on Tuesday (video below).

Victoria Thomas Bowen, an OnlyFans model, is set to appear before Colchester Magistrates’ Court on July 2nd concerning the incident, which saw the Reform UK leader doused with a yellow liquid believed to be a banana milkshake as he was leaving a pub in the coastal town.

According to Essex Police, the charges against Bowen include assault by beating and criminal damage stemming from the drink being thrown at the 60-year-old former UK Independence Party (UKIP) leader around 2:10 pm on Tuesday.

Footage from the scene showed Nigel Farage with the milkshake splattered over his dark suit as he boarded his campaign bus after launching his candidacy bid for the Clacton constituency in the upcoming general election.

While unharmed, Farage described the milkshake attack as “quite frightening,” though he initially made light of it by quipping “my milkshake brings all the people to the rally” in a video posted to X.

This is not the first time the controversial right-wing populist has had food and drinks thrown at him by protestors during political campaigns and events. In 2019, he was hit by a banana and salted caramel milkshake from Five Guys while on a walkabout in Newcastle.

The assailant in that case, Paul Crowther, pleaded guilty to common assault and criminal damage. He was ordered to pay Farage £350 in compensation for cleaning his suit.

Nigel Farage has frequently drawn intense criticism and protests from opponents over his views on issues like Brexit and immigration during his decades at the forefront of British politics. However, physical attacks and harassment have also drawn condemnation across the political spectrum.
