Angel Reese Comes Out On Top As Sky Snap Fever's Winning Streak

Popular WNBA Rookie, Angle Reese came out on top for the first time since facing Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever in the WNBA.

Sky came from behind to defend their home court for an 88-87 victory.

Angel Reese had her best performance as a pro in the win. Reese put up 25 points and 16 rebounds in the effort, extending her rookie-record double-double streak to eight games. She also went 9 for 11 from the charity stripe.

On the other hand, Clark also did well. Fever held a 15-point lead, but couldn’t quite seal the deal. However, the star rookie set a new record. She got 13 assists in the game. She added a double-double of her own in the matchup: She netted 17 points and 13 assists, adding six rebounds in the effort.

Seven of Clark’s assists went to Aliyah Boston, who ended with 18 points. Guard Kelsey Mitchell led the Fever in points with 24, going 5-for-10 on 3-pointers.

Sky’s Chennedy Carter, also had a massive game with 23 points and five assists. Kamilla Cardoso, the other Sky rookie, earned a double-double of her own with 16 points and 10 rebounds.

It’s the first win for Reese over Clark in the WNBA, and the first win for Reese over Clark since LSU’s championship win over Iowa in 2023.

The Chicago Sky also halted Fever’s four-game winning streak, as the two squads fought for the final spot in the playoffs.

Fever would play the Seattle Storm on Thursday, while the Sky would play against defending champions, the Las Vegas Aces.

Indiana and Chicago will face each other for the fourth and final time this season on Aug. 30 in another home game for the Sky. Indiana leads the season series 2-1.
