Massive Laundry Detergent Recall Issued Over Serious Injury Concerns

Procter and Gamble has issued a recall for 8.2 million faulty laundry detergent packets, citing concerns of serious injury.

Announced on April 5, the recall encompasses Tide Pods, Gain Flings, Ace Pods, and Ariel Pods liquid laundry detergent packets packaged in flexible film bags, as reported by the Consumer Product Safety Commission.

The outer packaging, designed to prevent access to the detergent, is reportedly prone to splitting, posing a significant risk of injury, particularly if the detergent is ingested, especially by children.

Lot codes subject to the recall are located on the bottom of the detergent packaging and can be verified at pg.com/bags. Individuals in possession of the recalled detergent are advised to keep them out of reach of children and to contact Procter and Gamble for a refund and a child-resistant storage bag.

To date, no injuries associated with the recalled detergent products have been reported.
