Liverpool supporters expressed frustration over Jurgen Klopp‘s decision during the surprising 2-0 loss to rivals Everton in Wednesday’s Merseyside derby.
Jarrod Branthwaite and Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s goals secured Everton’s victory, marking Klopp’s final match against Everton with a disappointing outcome for Liverpool.
The defeat deals a significant blow to Liverpool’s title aspirations, especially after Arsenal’s dominant win over Chelsea and with Manchester City holding two games in hand.
Numerous players received criticism for subpar performances, including Darwin Nunez, Mo Salah, and Ibrahima Konate.
However, Klopp also faced backlash for his team selection, particularly with Diogo Jota and Cody Gakpo unavailable for the match.
Despite making five substitutions in the second half, Klopp opted not to introduce Ryan Gravenberch, who had showcased his scoring prowess in the previous match against Fulham.
One fan wrote: “Gravenberch play well – Gravenberch not get any game time the next game. Great way to build a young player’s confidence.”

A third blasted: “Darwin Nunez and Salah is still on the pitch, Ryan Gravenberch is still on the bench, Trent and Robbo subbed out, WHAT THE F*** IS JURGEN KLOPP THINKING??”
Another added: “Ryan Gravenberch scored a goal in the last game but Curtis Jones and Harvey Elliott got first dibs. This is how we lost out on so many other major titles with Klopp.”
Liverpool’s recent form has been less than stellar, with two defeats in their last three Premier League fixtures.
The loss at Goodison Park marks their first Merseyside derby defeat since 2010, highlighting the pressure on Liverpool to rely on their title rivals’ slip-ups to remain in contention for a second Premier League trophy under Klopp.
