A heated battle has broken out between rapper 50 Cent and his former girlfriend Daphne Joy in the wake of a lawsuit involving music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs.
In an Instagram post, Joy recently denied allegations that she worked as a paid sex worker for Combs, which were raised in an amended civil suit filed by producer Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones Jr. against Diddy.
In the lawsuit, Jones claimed that Joy and rapper Yung Miami were among women who “were paid a monthly fee to work as Mr. Combs’ sex workers.” Joy quickly fought back against what she called “lies” and “character assassination,” threatening to pursue legal action against Jones over the damaging claims.
“I am deeply hurt by the lies in Rodney Jones’ lawsuit,” Joy stated. “The claim that I am a sex worker is 100% false…I am retaining an attorney to explore all legal remedies against both Rodney and his attorney.”
But Joy didn’t stop there. She also attacked her ex 50 Cent, whose given name is Curtis James Jackson. This came after the rapper appeared to mock the sex worker allegation about Joy in his own Instagram post.
For that, Joy blasted 50 Cent for “wreaking real havoc, frenzy, and chaos onto people’s lives.” She then leveled other accusations of her own – alleging that the “Candy Shop” artist had previously raped and physically abused her during their relationship.
The personal attacks escalated from there, with Joy saying that her ex had “permanently damaged the last hope I had for you as a father” with his latest “false claims” against her. The former couple shares a 12-year-old son named Sire.
In a statement issued to USA Today, 50 Cent claimed the “disturbing allegations” about Joy’s alleged sex work led him to seek full custody of Sire to keep the child in a “safe environment.” He dismissed the heated rhetoric as merely retaliation for his custody efforts.
