Taylor Swift Delights Fans with Extended Eras Tour Film Release on Her 34th Birthday

In celebration of her 34th birthday, Taylor Swift treated fans to an extended version of her concert film, “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour,” now available for rental on various video-on-demand services. The pop sensation expressed gratitude on Instagram, thanking her supporters for their unwavering enthusiasm.

The extended version of the Eras Tour movie features performances of Lover‘s “The Archer,” 1989‘s “Wildest Dreams” and Speak Now‘s “Long Live,” which were previously omitted from its theatrical release. To celebrate the film’s at-home availability, Swift premiered a clip of the “Long Live” performance on TODAY and later shared the video to Instagram alongside a sweet caption.

Earlier this week, Swift previewed a clip of “The Archer” from the film on TODAY, captivating audiences with her performance adorned in a pastel-colored Atelier Versace bodysuit. The lyrics resonated with fans as she sang, “Combat, I’m ready for combat / I say I don’t want that, but what if I do? / ‘Cause cruelty wins in the movies / I’ve got a hundred thrown-out speeches I almost said to you.”

Initially, the cinematic version of Swift’s expansive 2023 tour lasted over 2 hours and 45 minutes, condensed from the live show’s 3 hours and 15 minutes. The Extended Version adds approximately 15 minutes to the overall runtime.

Directed by Sam Wrench, the concert film captured performances from Swift’s August shows at Los Angeles’ SoFi Stadium. Despite the extension, some portions of the setlist, including “Cardigan,” “No Body, No Crime” with Haim, “Invisible String,” “Nothing New” with Phoebe Bridgers, the “Seven” interlude, and ” ‘Tis the Damn Season,” won’t be featured in the on-demand version.

Swift had previously announced The Eras Tour (Extended Version) in late November, anticipating its availability for home rental starting on December 13, coinciding with her birthday. In her social media announcement, she shared a clip of “Wildest Dreams” from the concert, expressing excitement about celebrating the shared experiences of the past year with her audience.

She continued, “Very happy to be able to tell you that the extended version of the film including ‘Wildest Dreams,’ ‘The Archer’ and ‘Long Live’ will be available to rent on demand in the US, Canada & additional countries to be announced soon starting on … you guessed it, December 13 ??.”
