Star wide receiver Cooper Kupp suffered an ankle injury in the second quarter of the Los Angeles Rams’ game against the Seattle Seahawks.
Rams medical staff checked Kupp on the sidelines after he was taken away from the field and he went straight to the locker room from there.
“He was going to try to come back and play,” coach Sean McVay said after the game. “He was moving around at the beginning of the second half and we were hoping that he’d be able to go, but it just didn’t quite feel good enough.”
Kupp was on the sidelines in the third quarter with his helmet on, but he did not return to the field. He was officially ruled out in the fourth.
His coach did not have an update on his injury after the game.
Kupp, who missed the first four games of the season with a hamstring injury, has 23 catches for 364 yards and a touchdown in 2023.
He ended the 2022 season on injured reserve after leaving a Week 10 loss with a high ankle sprain that required surgery.
