Super Eagles forward Samuel Chukwueze may be back in AC Milan‘s starting lineup this weekend following an injury to Christian Pulisic.
Chukwueze was available to start for AC Milan against PSG on Tuesday in their UEFA Champions League match.
The Super Eagles forward, along with Theo Hernandez and Pulisic, returned to the team following a two-week injury layoff. Pulisic missed the team’s previous game against Udinese due to fitness concerns.
Rafael Leao and Olivier Giroud scored goals to ensure the Rossoneri won 2-1 despite a fantastic effort by the team. But Chukwueze watched the whole thing from the bench.
But, given that Pulisic hurt himself late in the match against PSG, that might change this weekend. Although the exact nature of the American’s injury is unknown, given his dismal injury history, coach Pioli is unlikely to take a chance on him.
Chukwueze, the team’s backup right winger, stands to gain from this since he might start against Lecce.
Chukwueze hasn’t made an impression since coming to Italy. In seven Serie A games, he has not contributed a goal. To establish himself as a mainstay in Milan, he needs to start putting up the numbers as soon as possible.
