Pope Francis received wide criticism after a video of him sitting and enjoying a circus-like show that had dancers, clowns, and performers wearing rainbow colors. Though the video is just surfacing now, it was actually recorded during a series of events that took place in the Vatican in 2020.
Many found the show-off as going beyond norms to be “inclusive” and not to be Catholic-like, labeling it a disappointment to the church.
Others related it to paganism and related the colourful rainbow colours to lgbtq, and opined that the catholic church, led by the current pope is bowing to the times.
Although Forbes said it was a tradition, which a quick search discovered to be true, I have not seen such a display since my reasoning years as a catholic. I can only relate this scenario to the MD of a top international financial institution publicly showing a video of himself enjoying a strip show.
