Ravens‘ Safety Kyle Hamilton claimed he was never informed of his ejection from the team’s 24-16 victory over the Titans on Sunday. Many teammates also questioned Hamilton’s ejection following his helmet-to-helmet hit on wide receiver Chris Moore.
Hamilton is the third NFL player to get ejected from a game this year.
Midway in the third quarter, Hamilton made a crushing hit across the middle on a first-and-15 situation close to the goal line. Moore’s left side of the head was directly struck by Hamilton’s helmet. Moore, a former Raven, stood shakily and made his way to the locker room.
Patrick Queen, an inside linebacker for Baltimore, called it a “tough call.”
Hamilton questions whether or not his hit merited a penalty.
When Hamilton was ejected from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium field, he rewatched the action in the locker room. He explained that he was playing the post route and that the quarterback was in his line of sight. He broke on the ball after it was thrown.
After the game, Titans coach Mike Vrabel had no new information on Moore.
Running back Derrick Henry of the Titans scored on a 15-yard rush to cut the Ravens’ advantage to 18-13 one play after Hamilton was dismissed from the game.
Hamilton’s departure was a significant one for Baltimore. Hamilton, a first-round selection from the previous season, came into the game on Sunday as the team’s fourth-leading tackler (29) and sack leader (three).
Baltimore managed to win, but the Ravens weren’t pleased with Hamilton’s behavior.
