NBA Champion and two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo has inked a multi-year contract agreement with the Milwaukee Bucks.

“Milwaukee is where I started my career, it’s our home, it’s where we’re raising our family, and it’s where I’m going to continue to work hard every day to make Bucks fans proud,” said Antetokounmpo. “I want to thank Bucks owners Wes, Jamie, Jimmy and Dee for their continuous support of me and my family, and I want to express my appreciation to Jon Horst for being a trusted partner who has been with me since the day I arrived in Milwaukee 10 years ago.

To my teammates and coaches, I will always be grateful to you for inspiring me to be my best every day. Together, we are committed to winning and bringing another championship to our city. And to Bucks fans, let’s get it!”

Entering his 11th season in the NBA, all with the Bucks, Antetokounmpo, 28, has won two MVP awards, been named Defensive Player of the Year, been named All-NBA seven times, been an All-Star seven times, been MVP of the NBA Finals, and is a member of the NBA’s 75th Anniversary Team.

The Bucks’ all-time leader in points, assists, blocks, triple-doubles, and games played, he has also been selected to the All-Defensive team five times, and he has been named a Most Improved Player.

“Giannis embodies greatness through his unmatched work-ethic, character, leadership and relentless desire to be the best, and we are beyond thrilled to have the opportunity to continue to win with him and his family,” said Bucks general manager Jon Horst.

“He’s an incredible player and person who gives so much to our community and our fans. It’s important to recognize Wes, Jamie, Jimmy and Dee for their unwavering and ongoing support and investment in championship basketball in Milwaukee. This is a historic occasion for the Bucks, our city and our great fans.”

Antetokounmpo is coming off a career-high 2022–23 campaign in which he shot 55.3% from the floor and averaged a career-high 31.1 points (5th in the NBA), 11.8 rebounds (T-2nd in the NBA), and 5.7 assists per game.

This made him one of just three players in NBA history and the first since 1972–73 to finish a season with an average of 30 points, 10 rebounds, and 5 assists while shooting 50% or better.

With the 15th choice in the 2013 NBA Draft, Antetokounmpo was chosen by the Bucks. He has played in 719 games with Milwaukee, making 654 starts, and has averaged 22.6 points, 9.6 rebounds, 4.7 assists, 1.3 blocks, and 4.7 assists per game over his career while shooting 53.7% from the floor.

At 29.2 points per game since the beginning of the 2018–19 season, Antetokounmpo is the league’s top scorer during the past five seasons. He has also assisted Milwaukee in winning the most regular-season games in the league during that time.

In 2021, Antetokounmpo won the MVP award for the Finals and guided the Bucks to their second championship—their first in fifty years. His Finals performance included averaging 35.2 points on 61.8% shooting, 13.2 rebounds, 5.0 assists, 1.8 blocks, and 1.2 steals per game.

He concluded his postseason career with 50 points in the game that decided the championship at Fiserv Forum. Antetokounmpo has guided the Bucks to the postseason in eight of his ten seasons as a player overall. In 79 postseason games, he has averaged 26.6 points, 12.0 rebounds, 5.2 assists, and 1.3 blocks.
