The Buffalo Bills came alive late in the game and the defense hung on for a win against the injury-riddled New York Giants, 14-9, even if it wasn’t nice for the duration of the game and it came down to the final play.
The Bills finally woke up offensively in the fourth quarter with back-to-back touchdown scores while the defense kept New York out of the end zone for the entire game. The Giants led — and even shut out the Bills — for the opening three quarters inside Highmark Stadium.
The New York Giants made a late-game drive down the field and came within one yard of winning it on the game’s final play, but they were unable to complete the goal line play.
Josh Allen, the quarterback, had a strong second half after a lackluster first half, with nearly half (82) of his 169 throwing yards coming on the two touchdown drives. While filling in for the injured starter Daniel Jones, experienced quarterback Tyrod Taylor also had a strong day, going 24-for-36 for 200 passing yards and 23 rushing yards on five rushes.
Buffalo improved to 4-2 on the year while the Giants fell to 1-5 and dropped their fourth game in a row with the defensive stop.
