This Manhattan home and its adjacent art gallery have been on and off the market for more than a decade, most recently selling for $34 million. But even with the delicious five-story spread’s new listing price of a more palatable $24 million, you’ll still need a considerable sum of money to take possession of it.

The property, which is just a few streets from Central Park, was first constructed in 1899 as the residence and workshop of textile designers D.D. and Leslie Tillett.

Boutique real estate investor Kate Shin paid $8.5 million for the property in January 2008, and over the following four years, she worked with Japanese architect Toshiko Mori to transform the former carriage house into a mansion perched above a gallery.

The towering building is highlighted by a renovated brick façade embellished with stone embellishments. It is known as the “Waterfall Mansion” after the 23-foot-tall inside water feature that cascades into a ground-floor reflecting pool surrounded by sculpture. Visitors enter through entry gates made of blackened stainless steel with a leaf motif, which lead to a gallery that has hosted industry events for brands like Rolls-Royce, Gucci, and Fendi in addition to shows by current and international artists.

Six bedrooms and seven bathrooms are spread across roughly 11,000 square feet of living space in the upper level of the building. Quarter-sawn maple floors are also featured, along with marble, black slate, limestone, and glass tile finishes. There is an elevator to all levels, professional lighting, a central 50-foot light well, and more than 40 German-made custom windows and skylights, among other notable amenities.

Other notable features include a roomy living area, a dining area with floor to ceiling glass walls overlooking the waterfall, and a kitchen furnished with Asko and Thermador appliances. Around the corner are a wet bar with a wine cooler, a walk-in pantry, and a powder room. In another location is a full-floor master bedroom with a separate den, a bathroom with dual vanities and a soaking tub, and access to a terrace warmed by a fire pit.

The basement features a 1,000-bottle wine cellar, a spa, a cedar-lined sauna, a gym, and a massage room, in addition to a manicured roof terrace with stunning cityscape views.

Bianca D’Alessio and J.B. Andreassi of Nest Seekers International are the owners of the listing.
