Manchester United Ex-player, Anthony Elanga has explained that he did not get the chance to prove himself at Old Trafford.
Elanga saw his playing time enormously decreased last season, though, as Erik ten Hag depended on new signings and other emerging talent.
He made only 26 appearances for United last season.
During the summer transfer, Anthony sealed a £15m move to Nottingham Forest and the Sweden international is already making a substantial impact for Steve Copper’s side.
On Saturday, Elanga kept his composure to score the winner against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
Despite having yet to start a game for Forest, the winger is confident he can continue to find the back of the net so that he can be embedded in the starting 11.
“It’s something I can build on but I need to play for me to build that confidence and that’s something I didn’t really get to do a lot at United,” Anthony said.
“But now that I’m here, I feel like I’ve got the confidence of the manager, who has given me these opportunities, so hopefully these opportunities will turn into starts, and those starts will turn into more goals and assists.”
