The comedian Dane Cook, 51, wed his 24-year-old fiancée Kelsi Taylor, a fitness instructor, in a private ceremony on O’ahu, Hawaii, on Saturday.
Before getting married in front of only 20 guests on the tropical island, which holds a “special place” in Cook’s heart, the couple dated for five years.
“[Hawaii] was one of the first trips we ever went on together and we continue to go back often. It’s such an oasis, and we couldn’t be more excited to have spent our wedding week surrounded by the beauty of Oahu,” he told People Monday.
For the nuptials, Taylor said they opted for “minimal garden party vibes with bright bold florals.”
Cook chimed in, “We envisioned something that was more along the lines of a gathering of our closest family and friends.”
He continued, “Something intimate, connected, and filled with fun. We decided to do a full week vacation with a wedding right in the middle, and we wouldn’t want it any other way.”
The bride looked stunning on her wedding day in a Grace Loves Lace gown and veil, which she matched with a pair of clear Amina Muaddi heels.
“It was one of the first dresses I tried on, and I immediately fell in love with it,” Taylor said of her simple, embroidered dress, which featured a daring split up her left leg.
“There’s just something about the simplicity and comfort of it and the beautiful stitching design and detail. So happy to have found this gem.”
Additionally, the newlyweds disclosed that they chose “traditional vows.”
“To be perfectly honest, I had a feeling that Dane would totally outshine my speech,” Taylor said of the “Good Luck Chuck” star.
“He has the best way with words, and I knew I wouldn’t even be able to match up to his delivery. I also really just wanted to keep our more intimate vows private and to give him a handwritten letter the morning of.”
Taylor changed after the formal ceremony into a blush gown by Katie May with a flowing neckline for the reception.
”I wanted something a bit more soft and sultry for the dinner, and I think this definitely provided that,” she said.
Under “dreamy” string lights, guests danced the night away to popular ’80s songs.
“We both grew up listening to the ’80s and it’s such a massive part of our life,” Taylor explained. “We’ve always bonded over it.”
In July of last year, Cook, who is Taylor’s senior by 26 years, got down on one knee.
“She said yes!” the “Employee of the Month” star wrote in the caption of a video of Taylor showing off her diamond sparkler.
The Pilates instructor stated in her own article that “fiancé has a nice ring to it.”
“I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect moment. I love this man and love spending my life with him. I can’t wait for what’s to come,” she gushed at the time.
