Apple’s online store was now ahead of today’s WWDC23 keynote at 10 a.m. Pacific Time. Apple will showcase its new AR/VR headset, announce a15-inch MacBook Air, andupdated Mac Studio models.
However, Apple’s online Store did not crash as a result of too much traffic from customers. The company usually takes down its online store prior to launching new hardware, to help it build anticipation.
The new entry in the Apple store will likely be the new Macs, as investment firm Morgan Stanley recently estimated that Apple’s headset is still months away from entering mass production and launching.
The new 15-inch MacBook Air is rumored to use the M2 chip, while the updated Mac Studio models would likely be available with M2 Max and M2 Ultra chips.
This is the second consecutive year in which Apple’s online store has gone down ahead of WWDC (Worldwide Developers Conference). Hardware announcements during last year’s keynote included 13-inch MacBook Air and 13-inch MacBook Pro models with the then-new M2 chip.
The new Apple AR/VR headset rumored to sell at about $3,000 will mark the launch of a new software platform for Apple, its first since the Apple Watch in 2015.
Apple typically uses the event to announce software enhancements coming later in the year to the iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, and its other products. It will also share information on iOS 17, the next operating system for iPhones. Apple is also expected to discuss its future with AI during the keynote.
“We expect Apple to head down the path to have its own AI driven solution that will be integrated within the Apple ecosystem and enable consumers to further tap into their iOS data, video, music, applications, and Apple devices through next generation AI capabilities,” Wedbush analyst Dan Ives said.
