Drug Dealer Pleads Guilty To Selling The Overdose That Killed Michael K. Williams

With a picture-evidence of the illicit trade in broad daylight, a drug dealer pleaded guilty to selling the dose of fentanyl-laced heroin that killed actor Michael K. Williams.

According to Michael K. Williams’s attorney Damien Williams, the drug dealer named Irvin Cartagena, also called Green Eyes, sold the drug “in broad daylight in New York City, feeding addiction and causing tragedy”.

“He dealt the fatal dose that killed Michael K Williams”.

“This office and our law enforcement partners will continue to hold accountable the dealers who push this poison, exploit addiction, and cause senseless death in our community,” he added.

Michael K. Williams died at the age of 51 years old and It was later revealed his death wascaused by a drug overdose.

Official documents read:

“On or about September 5, 2021, members of the drug trafficking organisation sold Michael K Williams heroin, which was laced with fentanyl and a fentanyl analogue, with Cartagena executing the hand-to-hand transaction.”

Despite knowing that Williams died after being sold the hard drug, Cartagena and his team “continued to sell fentanyl-laced heroin in broad daylight amidst residential apartment buildings in Brooklyn and Manhattan”.

39-year-old Cartagena pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to possess and distribute, with intent to distribute fentanyl analogue, fentanyl, and heroin. As part of his guilty plea, the defendant said his actions “resulted in the death of Michael K Williams”.

His offense is punishable by a minimum sentence of five years in jail and a maximum sentence of 40 years in prison.

Michael K. Williams had spoken previously about his drug use. In his last social media post, he told his fans not to cry for him, implying that the actor might have had a premonition of his impending death. He was also on therapy before his death.
