The Philadelphia Eagles drafted Georgia defensive end Nolan Smith with the 30th overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.
In the last two drafts, the Eagles have added Jordan Davis and Nakobe Dean in the 2022 NFL Draft, and after trading up for Jalen Carter at No. 9 earlier in the night, now they add Smith to the team.
Nolan Smith had a 4.39 40-yard dash at 240 pounds, a 41.5″ vertical, and a 10’8″ broad jump, with 20 career tackles for a loss and 12.5 sacks at Georgia. He will join a defense that already has Haason Reddick, who many compare Smith to, as well as Brandon Graham.
The Eagles’ defensive line after Day 1 of the NFL Draft is a star-studded group. Reddick, Davis, Graham, Fletcher Cox, Carter, and now Smith is a group that will give offenses fits.
The second round of the draft will continue on Friday at 7 p.m., and the Eagles have picks 62 and 66.
