Aaron Rodgers revealed on “Pat McAfee Show” that he wants to play for the Jets.
He made the revelation as he nears his end with Parkers and amidst his future NFL team.
“Since Friday I made it clear that my intention was to play and my intention was to play for the New York Jets,” Rodgers said.
“I haven’t been holding anything up at this point it’s been compensation that the Packers are trying to get for me, kind of digging their heels in, I think it is interesting at this point to step back and look at the whole picture.”
“I still have that fire and I want to play and I would like to play in New York, it’s just a matter of getting that done at this point,” he added.
It’s been a rough offseason for Rodgers, coming from a disappointing 18th season in Green Bay, where the Packers finished the year at 8-9 and missed the playoffs.
Though the 39-year-old, was not fast to take a stance on his future, he had said that he will not hold the Packers “hostage” as he thought about the next best steps to take.
Aaron Rodgers had embarked on a four-day darkness retreat when he told McAfee prior to his time in isolation how he was hoping to “have a better sense of where I’m at in my life” overall.
He also spoke about his experience after he concluded the retreat, on the “Aubrey Marcus Podcast,” revealing how he saw life after retirement and what it would be like if he continued playing.
