The fight against the trafficking of hard drugs seems to be getting tougher as the underdogs always devise new strategies to beat the system – now with the aid of peppers.
In a recent video circulating on social media, some drugs were discovered neatly concealed in pepper plants.
It was reported that the video originated from Saudi Arabia after 4 million amphetamine tablets were discovered hidden inside packs of bell peppers, also known as capsicum.
The contraband drugs were en route to the United Kingdom. Five people – 3 Syrians, an Egyptian, and a Saudi citizen, connected with the shipment of the narcotic pills were arrested in Riyadh and Jeddah.
The origin of the drugs hidden inside the packaged peppers has not been made available, however, Lebanon and Syria were singled as the largest producers of Captagon tablets that get smuggled to the UK.
