san francisco 49ers new orleans saints game recap review highlights

The San Francisco 49ers defeated the New Orleans Saints 13-0 on Sunday at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.

The record win made it the first time the New Orleans Saints were out since January 6, 2002, ending the longest active streak in the NFL of 332 games.

For San Francisco, the victory was the fourth straight win which saw the team to 7-4 and dropped the Saints to 4-8.

The New Orleans coach, Dennis Allen, admitted that his team failed to utilize the opportunities they had in the game while giving kudos to the 49ers.

Part of the mistakes of the News Orleans Saints was Alvin Kamara losing a fumble on the team’s first possession and losing a second on the goal line in the fourth quarter. Tight end Juwan Johnson had an opportunity to recover the second fumble but the 49ers came with it at the 1-yard line.

Kicker Wil Lutz blew a 48-yard field goal at the end of a strong drive; the kick came up after right tackle Ryan Ramczyk was penalized for a false start when the Saints were going for it on fourth down.

The Saints were also penalized 6 times for 46 yards. Dalton was 18 of 29 for 204 yards. Kamara carried 7 times for 13 yards and gave six receptions for 37 yards, while Chris Olave had 5 receptions for 62 yards and could have had a 6 except for a sudden thwart.

The San Francisco 49ers and New Orleans Saints Sunday’s game also saw the launch of rookie tackle Trevor Penning. Defensive ends Cameron Jordan, Marcus Davenport, cornerback Bradley Roby, running back Mark Ingram and left tackle James Hurst were also brought in.

The next game of the Saints will be against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on December 6.
