In light of the much anticipated Premier League highlight match of the weekend, Chelsea vs Arsenal, Graham Potter has dropped his two cents, as he knows he would be playing against a team that has grown.
Potter beat Manchester United with Brighton on the opening day of the season in August by two goals to one and is preparing to face them again with Chelsea.
He believed that the Red Devils have grown a lot under Ten Hag’s guidance, winning six of nine league matches subsequently.
The Chelsea coach said:
“A lot has changed. They’ve changed a little in how they build-up, they are a little bit more direct. At the same time, they have the same quality.”
“They have the threats of [Marcus] Rashford, Anthony, [Jadon] Sancho and Bruno Fernandes plays a key role for them.”
“So there are a lot of similarities but they seem to have adapted to the competition, adapted to each other, learned more about each other. It’s a normal process really.”
United sits just one point behind Potter’s Chelsea heading into this weekend’s clash at Stamford Bridge. If the Red Devils win, they would move to 4th position, just a point behind Tottenham.
Potter is yet to taste defeat with Chelsea, winning three and drawing one of his four Premier League games, keeping three clean sheets in the process.
The two English heavyweights go head-to-head on Saturday in one of the biggest tests for Potter since he arrived at Stamford Bridge.
