We have been working extremely hard at Aggies Wire to get you ready for Texas A&M’s upcoming season opener against Sam Houston State, which is now just hours away. However, let me remind you that recruiting never stops, and some fantastic news involving one of the top 2024 and priority recruits for the Aggies was announced on Thursday night. This is regardless of all the chaos that any week leading up to the first game of the season brings.

2024 quarterback DJ Lagway is reportedly coming to College Station, Texas this Saturday, September 3, to watch the Sam Houston State game as part of his visit, according to the well-known recruiting website On3.

According to On3 consensus rankings, Lagway is a 4-Star recruit, the class’s fifth-ranked quarterback, the 31st-ranked player overall, and the third-ranked player in Texas. Lagway is currently projected as a 67.3% favorite to sign with the Aggies by On3, which would be a huge relief for Jimbo Fisher and company after they had so far been unsuccessful in signing several quarterbacks in the 2023 recruiting class.

Lagway, a dual threat who is currently in his junior year at Willis High School in Willis, Texas, is coming off of a strong 2021 campaign in which he racked up 1,579 passing yards, 17 touchdowns, and just 2 interceptions while adding 715 rushing yards and 6 rushing touchdowns.
