Although Britney Spears’ conservatorship may have ended, she and her father, Jamie Spears, are still embroiled in a legal dispute. Over the past few months, things between them have been getting rather serious, and now Jamie is about to be removed by his daughter’s legal team.
However, in a recent filing, the Spears patriarch’s attorneys are raising some fresh arguments against the deposition. In actuality, they are adamant that it is unfair to their client.
According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Jamie Spears’ legal team argued that their client shouldn’t have to wait to answer questions about the various accusations his daughter has leveled against him. The right to take a deposition “can rarely be denied,” according to the discussion in the documents.
A court decided earlier this that Britney would not need to be deposed while her father would. With that, Jamie also found an error in Mathew Rosengart, the lawyer for his daughter, who had claimed that he had not found enough justification to invalidate his daughter’s deposition.
