Actor Roger Mosley passed away on Sunday, according to his daughter. He was best known for playing helicopter pilot Theodore “TC” Calvin on the popular 1980s series “Magnum PI.” He was 83 years old.

According to the actor’s daughter Ch-a Mosley, Mosley passed away surrounded by family on Saturday after suffering injuries in a car accident last week that left him paralyzed from the shoulders down and in serious condition.

In the crime-adventure series “Magnum, P.I.,” which aired for eight seasons from 1980 until 1988, Mosley co-starred with Tom Selleck in more than 150 episodes.

According to his IMDb website, Mosley also made a cameo in a more current remake of the popular show as another character named John Booky.

Roger Mosley, who was born on December 18, 1938, in Los Angeles, was raised in Watts and attended Jordan High School. He made his acting debut on the big screen in 1971 by taking on small roles in the films “Cannon” and “Longstreet.”

He later played Monk alongside Phyllis Davis and his soon-to-be co-star Selleck in the film “Terminal Island.”

Mosley began his career on “Magnum, P.I.” as Theodore “T.C.” Calvin, a helicopter pilot who ran a tour company named “Island Hoppers,” after playing a series of parts in the late 1970s.

He frequently shared the screen with Lawrence Francis Manetti’s Orville “Rick” Wright. A first-season episode was written and directed by Mosley as well.

He made appearances on a number of other shows in addition to “Magnum, P.I.”
