Famous actor Robin Williams committed suicide in 2014 as he was suffering from Lewy body dementia. His iconic performances continue to live on in memory, earning him more than a hundred acting credits over the course of his career.
Robin Williams’ portrayal as “Mork, from Ork,” an alien from the planet Ork, in a 1974 “Happy Days” episode led to his initial recognition. The performance sparked the successful spinoff “Mork & Mindy,” which ran on ABC from 1978 to 1982. Williams was infamous for frequently deviating from the script while filming, and finally the producers began purposefully leaving plot holes so he could improvise.
In Paradise Cay, California, he was discovered dead in his residence. Williams battled drug and alcohol addiction in addition to deteriorating mental health. Ironic that one of his students in Dead Poets Society also died similarly—by suicide.
