Bette Midler and Macy Gray have both been charged with transphobia.
Gray, who is best known for her 1999 hit song “I Try,” appeared on Fox Nation’s “Piers Morgan Uncensored” on Monday, and she seemed to foresee the response.
After Morgan brought up the subject of trans athletes in sports, Gray remarked, “I will say this and everyone’s going to hate me but as a woman, just because you go change your (body) parts, doesn’t make you a woman, sorry.”
You feel that, right?” Morgan asked.
I am quite certain of that,” Gray said.
The same thing happened when Midler tweeted on Monday, “WOMEN OF THE WORLD! Our rights to our bodies, our lives, and even our names are being taken away from us.
Both of their remarks were poorly received.
