Over the years, Peter Shukoff has proved again and again why he deserves the G4 title “King of Dot Com.
Peter Shukoff was born in Rochester, New York. His dad is Russian and his mom is American. They gave birth to three kids, one of who was to become the billboard for and Mozart of epic rap battles.
Shukoff majored in education and history intending to become a teacher. An intention that is lost in a sea of creativity that has earned him fame and even a Forbes interview.
He tried his hands at being a birthday party magician but gave that up a few years later. He soon began to play in bars and comedy clubs, armed with a guitar, a witty sense of humour and a bland stage name, Nice Peter.
It was in one of these bars that Peter met Lloyd Ahlquist. He convinced the latter to perform his epic raps on Peter’s youtube channel, which was quite popular at the time.
They tinkered with the idea and the craft, thus giving birth to what became known as epic rap battles of history.
Peter Shukoff and his partner have churned 83 episodes of Epic Rap Battles of History, and 6 seasons since its inception.
The YouTube Web series and music project have also featured celebrities such as Barack Obama, Snoop Dogg, Tim DeLaGheto, T-pain, Jordan Peele, etc.
About a dozen of the rap battle singles have been certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America.
“Barack Obama vs Mitt Romney” was the first to be certified, followed by singles like “Adolf Hitler vs Darth Vader,” “Albert Einstein vs Stephen Hawking,” etc.
