Hanner Fowler has filed for divorce following allegations of infidelity levelled against her husband, Sam Hunt.
Hannah cited the boilerplate code section that reads, “The husband is guilty of such cruel and inhuman treatment or conduct toward the spouse as renders cohabitation unsafe or improper.”
Fowler claims in her legal docs, obtained by TMZ, that Sam Hunt is “guilty of inappropriate marital conduct,” and she goes on … “guilty of adultery.”
A few demands Fowler made:
– “Transitional alimony, rehabilitative alimony, and alimony in future.”
– “The parties be awarded their respective separate property.”
– She also wants primary custody of their soon-to-be-born child. And, she wants child support as well.
The court document claimed that Fowler is due in May. She also alleges that Sam Hunt is guilty of “inappropriate marital conduct” and “adultery” in docs filed on Feb. 18 in Tennessee.
The couple had an on and off relationship before a reunion in 2016 saw them married the next year.
Regarding that and the hope of their getting back together, Fowler states in the document “all hopes of reconciliation are exhausted.”
Their relationship would have been five years old in April.
The couple was married in 2017. Sam’s album, “Montevallo,” is about his relationship with Hannah. They met in the Alabama town with the same name, when he was a QB for the Univ. of Alabama, Birmingham.

Sam Hunt and Fowler met shortly before he moved to Nashville to begin work on what would become his first album, Montevallo.
Though they weren’t together when he was making most of the project, much of the album was inspired by his relationship with Fowler.
The album gets its title from the name of her Alabama hometown.
Hunt described Fowler as a former girlfriend whom he consulted while writing Montevallo’s songs, telling Billboard:
“I spent a lot of time talking to her about the songs and asking, ‘What do you think about this?’ Her perspective was a powerful part of me being able to connect with a female audience, not just a male audience.”
2016: Sam Hunt and Fowler’s on Again, Off Again Relationship Officially Turns on Again
During the summer of 2016, Sam Hunt officially set out to win Fowler’s heart back, making several trips to her then-home of Hawaii in an attempt to convince her to move to Nashville.
“I think last summer I went out [to Hawaii] about seven times in about three months,” he admitted to ET. “Trying to talk to her about coming back. And on the seventh trip, I convinced her.”
2017: Sam Hunt Proposes to Fowler During a Trip to Israel
The country star officially made his girlfriend his bride-to-be in January 2017, during a trip to Israel. Though the pair didn’t share too many details on their engagement right away.
Hunt did open up to radio DJ Bobby Bones about how he popped the question, explaining that the two got into a small fight right before he planned to propose.
“Something came up that irritated her and I realized this may mess up my big plan to ask her to marry me that night,” he said.
“… It turned into this kind of fight that, fortunately, led to the perfect opportunity to ask her to marry me. So this little altercation we had actually worked out. It was a special moment.”
It’s one of Hunt’s darkest and most intimate heartbreak ballads, clearly written about a difficult period in the couple’s relationship.
He even ends the song with the line, “Hannah Lee, I’m on my way to you / Nobody can love you like I do.”
April 2017: Sam Hunt + Fowler Get Married in an Intimate Ceremony
Just weeks after their ACMs appearance, Hunt and Fowler tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in Georgia.
“We are both kind of introverted people for the most part, so we don’t like celebrating ourselves too much,” Hunt said ahead of the ceremony.
“If there ever is a time to do it, it is now, and it is more to celebrate the union of marriage than it is each other.”
Before the official wedding, some eagle-eyed fans wondered if Hunt and Fowler had secretly tied the knot already due to an Instagram post that showed him wearing a ring.
2018: Sam Hunt Steps Away From the Spotlight and Focuses on Family Life
After he released “Downtown’s Dead,” the follow-up single to “Body Like a Back Road,” Hunt withdrew from the spotlight for quite a while.
He subsequently told ET Canada that that time away from the music industry was an intentional choice to “take a step back,” saying,
“I got to a point where I really didn’t feel like I could I was smelling the roses because it was happening so fast.”
He did, however, promise new music down the road. He made good on that promise in April 2020, dropping Southside, which contained his next No. 1 hit, “Hard to Forget.”
July 2021: Hunt Says He and Fowler Are Hoping to Start a Family Soon
The singer and his wife spent much of the pandemic hunkered down together during his COVID-19-induced break from the road.
During an interview with Audacy’s TC & Dina, he said that the conversation had turned to making the plunge into parenthood.
“We’ve really started thinking about it seriously here these past few months, so that’s on the agenda right now, and I’m hoping that we’ll have some good news sooner than later,” Hunt revealed.
February 2022: Fowler Files for Divorce, and Documents Reveal That She’s Pregnant
The country superstar couple’s romance came to a screeching halt in February, when Fowler filed for divorce.
According to TMZ, the records indicate that they separated the same day the paperwork was filed, which was Friday, Feb. 18.
The documents also indicate that Fowler is about six months pregnant, with a due date in May.
She’s reportedly asking for child support and alimony from Hunt, as well as primary custody of their baby.
Sam Hunt has a couple of shows planned for this year. He hasn’t said anything about Fawler’s file for divorce. News of Hunt and Fowler’s separation comes on the heels of Simon Biles and Jonathan Owens’ engagement. Life balances itself in a weird manner.
