Covid19 has been a hot topic since its international outbreak in 2019, claiming over a million lives globally. The United States, Italy, The United Kingdom, among others, were the most hit countries, with over six million cases.
It was quickly labeled a pandemic, as many physical jobs went remote, and the unemployment rate increased significantly.
Although the United States and the UK have released covid-19 vaccines to curb the spread, the disease seems to surge in children.
A report noted that while countries across Europe were rolling out vaccinations for every age group, the UK delayed children from 2-11 years of age.
This delay has caused covid19 cases in children to skyrocket. Research stated that one out of every ten children in the United Kingdom has covid-19.
Christina Pagel, the director of clinical operation research at the University College, London, noted that the spread from the kids to their teachers could happen in a month. Her statement and government records mean the schools can not afford resumption if they want to curb the spread.
