Pakistan has recorded the highest number of covid-19 cases in a day, since the pandemic started in 2020, reaching over 1.4 million cases so far.
Despite the Omicron variant surge, the number of covid-19 has continued to rise, with Pakistan recording over 8,000 cases in the last 24 hours, according to the National Command And Operation Centre’s statistics (NCOC).
Pakistan covid-19 death toll has also recorded a new high of 30 deaths in one day, since the 39 that died on October 6, 2021.
The health authorities conducted 68,624 tests across the country in the last 24 hours and 8,123 of them tested positive to coronavirus. With the current number of cases, Pakistan positivity rate has gone up to 11.92%.
