In the event of “Shumba The Lion Old Man“, a 72 years old man and park owner for wild animals, Michael Hodge, had earlier moved to South Africa, to be closer to the wild.
However, nature was not so kind to him as he was attacked, dragged off, and almost killed by Shumba – the lion he bottle-fed when he was a cub.
The old man was almost mauled to death by the lion after he walked into its enclosure.
He attempted to run back to the entrance after the lion saw him and started charging toward him.
Unfortunately, the lion got hold of him at the entrance of the fenced enclosure, dragging him further inside and started the killing process.
Onlookers screamed and captured the terrifying moment with their mobile phones. However, the quick response of the park rangers who shot and killed Shumba, saved the old man’s life
It is unclear why and how the aged man, Michael Hodge, was allowed access to the enclosure.
