The Daily Show host – Trevor Noah is dragging the Hospital for Special Surgery and the surgeon – Riley Williams III, that operated on him last year to court.
He was treated at the hospital between August to December 2020, with the surgery taking place on 23 November 2020 for “various medical conditions and other related treatment”.
Details from the suit, though not specific, revealed Trevor Noah was suing the hospital and its surgeon for the treatment and after-care he received, stating he “sustained permanent, severe and grievous injuries”.
It also stated that the comedian would not have opted for the surgery if he was properly informed about the “risks, hazards and alternatives.”
The particular ailment for which Trevor Noah was treated is strictly confidential, conforming to standard medical practice, however, the surgeon who is being sued is a specialist in knee, shoulder, and elbow surgery.
The surgeon – Riley Williams III, is a graduate of Yale University and Stanford University’s medical school. He is the orthopedic head surgeon for the New York Red Bulls, WNBA professional basketball teams, Iona College Department of Athletics, and Brooklyn Nets.
In its defense, the Hospital for Special Surgery said Trevor Noah’s allegations are meritless and a response has been sent to his attorney.
