North Korea has banned its citizens from laughing, crying, and expressing happiness for 11days. The citizens were given the strict order by the government to mark the tenth anniversary of former leader Kim Jong Il’s death.
It was reported that in the history of North Korea, citizens who were found laughing, crying, and drinking during this period were arrested and treated like criminals. They were also taken away never to be seen again.
The rule was stated to have been in existence since 2011 when the ex-president died of a heart attack before Kim Jong-un took over as the president up to date. The mourning was supposed to be observed for 10 days but to mark the tenth anniversary of Kim Jong II, it would be observed for 11 days.
The citizens are to look upset and annoyed during this period as it was reported that special forces will be assigned to watch out for those who will violate the rule.
