The Biafran Currency; the Biafran pound & shillings, is the currency that was to be used by the intended state of Biafra.
The Biafran shillings were made of pure aluminum and the 2 shilling – 2s, 5 shilling – 5s, & 10-shilling – 10s, were issued in the year 1969 together with the Biafran Pound denominated as £B, of which the 1 Biafran pound – £B1, 5 Biafran pound – £B5 and 10 Biafran pounds £B10, were issued.
The value of the Biafran currency; shillings & pounds, cannot be ascertained because the world is yet to recognize it as a currency itself. However, the currency which is majorly characterized by the palm tree over a rising sun, is still been held by some private individuals & collectors.
