Hacker Breaks Nigerian Bank’s Server, Steals 1.87 Billion!

Salau Abdulmalik Femi, a 35-year-old sophisticated hacker has been arrested by the Special Fraud Unit (SFU) after he successfully hacked into the server of a new generation Nigerian bank and stole 1.87 Billion Naira.

It was gathered that he created fake credits in 3 of the bank’s customer’s accounts, then proceeded to withdraw and transfer the money to other bank accounts via internet banking, of which N417.5m had already been transferred out.

The affected bank notified the CBN of the security breach and they were quick to apprehend the suspect.

The suspected hacker and some Bureau De Change (BDC) operators which he allegedly used to clean the money will be charged to court as soon as investigations are completed
