Reason Nigerians Jubilated on Abba Kyari’s Death- Former Chief of Staff to Buhari

The right-hand man of Nigerian’s Democratic Dictator- President Mohammadu Buhari is dead. He died after contracting the raging coronavirus.
Abba Kyari, aged 68 years old, was born in Borno, Nigeria, a state bedridden with the nefarious activities of the dreaded Boko Haram, on 23rd September 1952. He was a learned man who got his first degree in sociology from the University of Warwick, then a Master’s degree in law from the University of Cambridge. He further obtained a Leadership program from the famous Harvard Business School.
He had broad work experience in various fields as a Lawyer, Editor, Secretary to the board of the African International Bank, as well as occupying a seat as an Executive Director then CEO of United Bank for Africa (UBA). He was also a board member of Unilever and Mobil.
However, despite his outstanding educational and professional landmarks, he is overly disliked by Nigerians, who have vehemently accused him of hijacking the hem of affairs of the presidency- a fact the first lady of Nigeria, Aisha Buhari, had indirectly cried against.
President Buhari has been accused of neglecting, hence aiding the spread of terrorism in the country. Given his continual silence on the heinous crimes being committed by the Fulani herdsman, a tribe he hails from, as well as unwarranted government expenditure on irrelevancies such as the renovation of the Presidential Palace- Aso Rock, with a tune of N37 billion ($88 million), a structure that was initially constructed with N35 billion ($83 million). The president’s continual inability to address the nation due to his age as well as failure to see to his campaign promises, which are evidenced by the nation’s current galloping inflation, made Nigerians as well as some international body to write him off.
Abba Kyari has been known as the man behind the hem of affairs, after President Buhari had on various occasions directed all requests to him to go through Abba Kyari, including reports from ministers, whilst the Vice President- Yemi Osinbajo, was always excluded from their meetings.
This logically made Nigerians vent their accusations and anger on him. Hence the seemingly wide jubilations on social media when it was reported that he had contracted the corona-virus after a trip to Germany to discuss the nation’s electricity issue- a call meant for the Minister of Power, to his death. His burial on the 18th of April, despite the Federal Government’s ban on any form of social activities, coupled with the hazardous cause of death, fueled more anger amongst Nigerians who saw him been treated above the law, even in death.
