On August 3, Draymond Green will be able to sign a contract extension with the Warriors. The 32-year-old forward, who recently won a title, allegedly seeks a four-year maximum deal that would pay him $164.2 over the following five seasons. He currently has two years left on the maximum contract he currently has with the Dubs.
Golden State won four championships in eight years with the help of the former Defensive Player of the Year. He has competed for the DPOY more than once, and he sees himself as an important member of the Warriors who merits a max contract.
Golden State, at least this year, apparently has no interest in giving Green a maximum deal. The current NBA champions are rumored to postpone contract extension discussions with the player until the summer of 2019.
