After defeating Novak Djokovic 6-7(5) 6-4 7-6(5) in their first meeting to advance to the Madrid Open final, Carlos Alcaraz has reacted. It comes a day after he won his maiden match against a fellow countryman in his third attempt.

As he recovered from a set down, Alcaraz defeated Djokovic in a three-hour and 35-minute battle. It was the teenager’s first meeting with world No. 1.

It occurred just one day after he won his first match against 21-time Grand Slam champion Rafael Nadal, and Alcaraz is now in the Madrid Open final.

It marks the world No. 9 the first player in history to beat Djokovic and Nadal in successive matches on clay, as well as the first teenager to do so anywhere. The four-time champion reacted to his historic victories over the two-game legends after a tough three-set victory over the three-time previous champion.
