Prior to Liverpool’s Merseyside derby victory against Everton on Sunday, Jake Paul expressed his support for the Reds.
The YouTube sensation shared two photographs of himself wearing a red Liverpool jersey and shorts with Mo Salah’s number 11 on them. However, fans were quick to point out that the jersey he wore was not original, and started trolling him.
Paul posted the photos of himself wearing the fake Liverpool jersey along with a prediction for the upcoming match.
Salah was tagged in the post by Paul, but the Egyptian legend did not respond.
However, his message drew a lot of attention from soccer enthusiasts, with many of them pointing out the same thing.
Several readers were convinced and amused that Paul, who according to Forbes earned $45 million last year, was wearing a “fake” Liverpool shirt.
The Nike emblem was plainly absent from Paul’s clothing.
Andy Robertson and substitute Divock Origi scored both goals as Liverpool won 2-0. Origi now has six goals against Everton.
Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool’s manager, lauded Origi as “world-class” and a “legend” after the game.
