Jarrod Bowen has set a new record in the history of West Ham United as the team took a much-needed three points at home against Sunderland after a 3-1 win, solidifying their chances in the Premier League.

This win makes it West Ham’s third consecutive victory in all tournaments and pushes them closer to safety, while they have been able to only record 20 points from 23 matches and remain in 18th position with only two points behind Nottingham Forest. West Ham dominated the possession of the first 45 minutes of the game.

Crysencio Summerville headed into Sunderland’s net a cross that came from Bowen in the 14th minute of the game, before Bowen himself scored the team’s second goal from the penalty spot after Ollie Scarles was roughly attacked by Trai Hume.

Mateus Fernandes fired a fine long-distance shot to record another goal before the first half ended.

The assist made by Bowen made it his 103rd Premier League goal involvement for the home side, beating the record earlier set by Michail Antonio.

Sunderland, which currently sits in the ninth position of the Premier League table, has only been able to record 33 points, as they didn’t play skipper Granit Xhaka due to injury and were only able to score a late goal through Brian Brobbey.
